P3

A 7 track noise rock album (33m 18s) — released July 21st 2023 on Gusstaff Records

The debut album by Próchno (2019) was created remotely without any rush, for nearly one year. However, Niż (2020), recorded as a single live take during the band's first onsite meeting, showcased the tremendous live potential of the group. P3 combines both of those approaches, and although Gawinecki, Leśniewski, and Sofiński are returning somewhat to the starting point, they end up in a completely different place. Artur Sofinski explains this continuity in the following way: The album "P3" is a natural continuation of our common journey. We have reached new, previously unexplored areas, but what shaped us in our previous albums is still strongly sensed.

Starting the work with ready drum parts forced a different way of thinking about the new material. The band's style became clearly defined on the debut, but despite that, P3 brings even more blurred, degraded music, disconcertingly cold in this form. This peculiar coldness is felt right from the beginning of the album. It's unreal music, full of reverberation, distinctive roughness, and the lyrical layer permeates with a sense of fear, confusion, and disorientation. Marcel Gawinecki summarizes this aspect as follows: "P3" is, to me, a silent scream in the cauldron of frustration caused by the climate crisis and the blame constantly shifted onto others, frustration caused by senseless prioritization of money over human life, as well as the spectre of social and military conflicts associated with it. Bartosz Leśniewski adds: It's a very personal album to me. It grew out of my experiences of the past two years. I'm using the sound to respond to difficult and important questions. It's not easy, but it's possible.
